About

Lance Snarr shoots most of his space photos from remote, dark areas located in Southern Utah, Northwestern Arizona, and Eastern Nevada. These remote, desert locations are relatively high in altitude and far away from light polluting cities. Astrophotography is a painstaking process requiring patience, tolerance for failure, and many hours under the stars. The best locations are high in altitude, often cold, and always lonely. But when the stars align just right and the clouds clear and the equipment and software all work, the results are exhilarating. Accompanied by the midnight howls of the nearby coyotes, Lance has spent countless hours pursuing his love of photographing the most remote deep space objects. Encourage by his friends and family, he founded his cottage business, Snarrtrek, and makes his works available to purchase. Each photograph is printed on high quality metal through a process called sublimating (infusion). This allows for the colors of the deep space objects to show in all their rich varieties. The prints include an all aluminum gallery mount on the back for easy hanging and display.
