The Jellyfish Nebula is what remains from a giant star that went supernova some 30,000 year ago. It is located in the constellation of Gemini and is roughly 5,000 light years from earth. The supernova event not only created this spectacular nebula, but it also created a pulsar star that is located near the southern edge. The death of the giant star created the conditions for new stars to be born. Over time, the space dust that forms the nebulosity will come together and form new stars and possibly new solar systems. As for the name of this beautiful object? Well, that speaks for itself.
